Resilient Stillness

"Stillness is a higher energy state than what we're used to," says Erich Schiffman in his book, Moving into Stillness.

What?

In 2020 we have been forced in some ways to slow down and given the opportunity to experience this stillness. Have you, like me, instead found ways to stir up your mind and emotions into frenzy? Distract and obsess on things outside of your control? In this way, while we may be expending massive amounts of energy, we are leaking and draining and feeling lower than we might if we were inactive

Or perhaps the inactivity has arrived. A sense of lethargy and what's the use or aimlessness in the sameness of days at home without places to be. Yet this is not the stillness Erich talks about.

This sweet stillness is pure alignment. Tuned into what our inner core essence, our heartbeat truly is. Have you felt that? For just a moment experienced yourself transported there by song, or an image or the cradling of a child.

This type of stillness--stillness we can move through the world with, is available to us all the time. It is within and we simply need to choose to practice how to access it.

In the next several New Moon meditations I'm offering, we will begin with learning and practicing short, easy ways to begin to access THIS type of stillness.

The stillness of power. Of alignment. Of centering. Of purposeful being.

From this type of stillness, our movement and interactions in the world are changed. They become more potent and powerful. Gentle and beautiful. We become more certain and more restful even when we work hard toward something.

This type of stillness is a key to developing resilience. And boy has 2020 given us opportunities to realize just how much resilience is needed to truly show up in our wholeness and bring our own unique gifts to the world. To those in our little world.

Visit my offerings and opt into our New Moon Meditations to join live or receive recordings as we develop the practice of moving into stillness to develop our resilience and power to engage for good.
